Welcome to our nursery
Welcome to Roundhill Nursery – A Nurturing Start for 2–4 Year Olds
At Roundhill, we are proud to offer a well-established nursery provision for children aged 2 to 4 years. Our highly qualified and experienced team—including Early Years teachers, practitioners, and Nursery Nurses—deliver high-quality early education that reflects the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Situated within the grounds of Roundhill Primary School, our nursery offers a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to become a confident, independent, and curious learner. We foster the Characteristics of Effective Learning by promoting exploration, active learning, and creative and critical thinking through carefully planned play and real-life experiences.
We recognise that children develop at their own pace, and our provision is tailored to meet individual needs through a broad and balanced curriculum. Learning is centred around the seven areas of the EYFS, ensuring children are supported in their communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
Our nursery curriculum is progressive and structured, carefully designed to build on prior knowledge and experiences, preparing children effectively for the Reception year and the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
We strongly believe that play is the foundation of young children’s learning, and our environment is rich with open-ended, purposeful play opportunities. Skilled adults observe, interact, and extend children's learning in the moment—drawing on their deep knowledge of each child's development, interests, and next steps. Through warm, responsive interactions, our staff enhance play to support communication, thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving—ensuring that learning is both meaningful and enjoyable.
We are committed to working in strong partnership with parents and carers, valuing them as their child’s first educators. Together, we share information, celebrate progress, and support each child’s unique learning journey.
Inclusion is at the heart of our practice. We are proud to welcome all children, regardless of their background, language, culture, religion, abilities, or gender. We ensure all children feel respected, valued, and secure, with equal access to learning and development opportunities.
Children thrive in our carefully designed indoor and outdoor environments, where they can explore, investigate, and learn through play. We place a strong focus on developing social skills, resilience, and empathy, helping children build positive relationships with their peers and adults.
At Roundhill Nursery, we are passionate about creating a happy and secure foundation where children can flourish—emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively—preparing them for the next stage in their learning and beyond.
