History of our school

Roundhill Primary School was formed in April 2015 following the amalgamation of Southdown Community Nursery and Infant School and Southdown Junior School. The Early Years and Key Stage One buildings originally built in the 1930s overlook our spacious playing field and Copse and the Key Stage Two buildings sit at the foot of Roundhill. We are fortunate to have tarmac play areas with adventure play equipment, spaces for quiet activities, large garden areas and a Wild Outdoor classroom. Academy Status

We are an Academy Status School with 'The Partnership Trust' which is a multi-academy trust. We now work closely with our partner schools which include: Moorlands Federation, Fosse Way School, Marksbury C of E School, Castle Primary Keynsham, Farmborough Church Primary School, Abbot Alphege Academy, Hayesdown First School in Frome, the Mendip School in Shepton Mallet, Nunney First School in Frome, Paulton Infant School, St Mary’s Primary, Camely Primary, Pensford Primary and Weston All Saints C of E Primary School, Bath. The Partnership Teaching School, supports schools of all sectors across the Mendips and City of Bath.
