Friends of Roundhill are a group of parents and carers who volunteer to organise fundraising events to pay for extra projects and equipment that benefit the whole school and help build a strong school community. Last year funds raised were used to help pay for coaches for school trips, library books, and the year 6 school leavers disco amongst other things. (See separate report for more details).
Thanks to the generosity of families and friends, we raise funds from a variety of events throughout the year. Events have included bingo nights, cake sales and seasonal fairs. Our most recent event was our annual Summer Fair, which was great fun and raised over £1,200! Some stalls were run by classes and others by teachers and volunteers and included “beat the goalie", temporary tattoos, bouncy castle and a BBQ.
We meet once a month in a friendly, informal atmosphere (usually Thursday mornings at 9 a.m.). Young children are welcome and tea, coffee and biscuits are served! It's a great way to get involved in the life of the school and make new friends
We are always keen to welcome new members, whether you have fundraising ideas or are just willing to get involved. You do not need any special skills, just lots of enthusiasm! If you can't attend the meetings, there are a number of ways you can help and get involved - from designing posters to providing contacts for raffle prizes and helping out at events.
