School Meals

Information for Parents on new Lunch Arrangements September 2018 onwards

You may be aware that BANES meals’ service ceased during the summer term. We have therefore negotiated a service level agreement with WASPs (Weston All Saints Primary School) kitchens to provide us with transported meals. This decision was made by the Governing Body due to the high level costs which would have been incurred had we decided to run our own ‘in-house’ catering service. This has allowed the cost of the school lunches to remain the same i.e. £2.80 per lunch provided. Payments should be made on the in the usual way. No cash payments are taken in the office. Please make sure you pay in advance for school lunches.

Below is a copy of the menu showing the food which will be provided. There are two options each day and provision for children with allergies (copy also below).

Universal Infant Free School Meals

From September 2014, all children in reception, Year 1 and Year 2 state-funded schools in England will receive free school meals. The aim is to improve academic attainment and save families money.

All parents are requested to complete a registration form in order for us to identify whether you would have been entitled under the existing free school meals scheme or not. This is because each child registered under the original scheme attracts valuable funding for their school. £1,320 for each eligible primary-aged pupil will be allocated in the next school year in additional funding.

Remember that every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 is entitled to receive a free school meal regardless of the outcomes from this registration form, but completion of the form may bring valuable funds into your child’s school.

If you have not already completed a registration form, there is a copy attached to this page.
