Welcome to Willow Class

Year 3/4

Class Teachers - Mrs Kate Freegard  (Mon,Tues) and Miss Melissa Lawrence (Weds, Thurs, Fri)

Teaching assistant - Mrs Jayne Nix

We are really looking forward to teaching Willow class this year!

Enquiry Learning

The year at Roundhill we are going to be learning through enquiry. This is new for us all and we have loads of ideas that we cannot wait to get started with!

PE kit

We advise that PE kit is brought into school on a Monday and left on their peg all week. Please ensure that your child has a change of clothes for PE, including trainers or a change of footwear. We also ask that earrings are removed for PE lessons. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings please provide plasters to cover their ears for the lesson.

Willow class will be swimming on a Thursday and Friday.

Homework and Spellings

Homework will be set on a Friday and should be handed in the following Wednesday. It will consist of either a piece of Maths or English work, related to what the children have been doing in class, and some spellings.

Reading with your child every night is encouraged and really helps to build your child's confidence. Please sign the diary when your child has read. The children will be able to earn a leaf for our display once they have read at home 4 times. Each leaf they earn gives them the chance to win a prize in our end of term draw!

ActiveLearn is a brilliant resource that all children are encouraged to use at home to support their learning. We will be uploading Maths games related to what they have been learning in class. All children have a username and log on details that we have stuck in their homework and reading diaries.

Classrooms are open from 8.30am if your child would like to come into class. All children will be asked to come into class from the playground at 8.45am. Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time so that they don't miss any of their learning.

We are really looking forward to getting to know your children, supporting their learning and watching hem grow. If you have any queries or concerns about your child's learning or well-being please let us know. We are available to speak to at the end of the day so please come and see us.
