St Barnabas Church is there for all the people of the communities of Southdown, Whiteway and Kingsway.
Our links with Roundhill Primary are important to us. Our vicar Catherine regularly comes to school to take assemblies and church members regularly volunteer in school to help with reading practice.
We welcome visitors and newcomers to church and organise regular activities to which all are welcome.
Busy Bees
On Monday mornings in term time from 9am – 11am we hold ‘Busy Bees’ toddler group in church. This is a busy, lively welcoming toddler group with plenty of space to play and for mums to chat. We serve hot drinks and toast.
Barney's Midweek Cafe
On Wednesday mornings (including most school holidays) from 10am – 12pm we hold ‘Barney’s’ midweek café, service hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes. There is also plenty of space for little ones to play, or anyone can just come and enjoy looking at the newspaper and having a chat.
Breakfast Club
We are part of Southdown Youth Partnership which runs Breakfast Club on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from the YMCA building on Mount Road from 7.30am – 8.45am.
We also hold regular events for the community. Recent examples were a summer street party, a bonfire party, coffee mornings, craft-making events eg before Christmas and before Mother’s Day, and Easter Garden making competition.

Services
Our regular family all-age worship service is on the second Sunday of every month at 10.30am. This is an informal service with children’s activities and is always followed by hot and cold drinks and cakes or donuts.
On other Sundays of the month, the main service is at 9.30am and children have their own activities in a side room during the quiet bits of the service (the sermon and prayers) and join the adults for the beginning and end of the servicer. All are welcome to all services.
For information about special life event services such as baptisms (also called Christenings), weddings or funerals, ring Catherine the vicar on 01225 478952, visit our web-site: www.stbarnabasbath.co.uk or email Catherine: priest@stbarnabasbath.co.uk
Our church hall is also widely used by the community. For details of activities for children eg Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Street Dance Classes for young people, visit our church hall page on the website: http://www.stbarnabasbath.co.uk/churchhall
