Willow

Welcome to Willow Class

Class Teacher - Mrs Abbie Tarrant

Teaching Assistant - Mrs Jayne Nix

Learning Support Assistant - Aniko

We are delighted to be teaching the children of Willow Class.

In terms 3 and 4 Y3/4 are learning about Stone Age to Iron Age! We will be finding out what life was like and looking at lots of non-fiction texts as well as our class novel, 'Song Hunter' by Sally Prue.

We advise that PE kit is brought into school on a Monday and left on their peg all week. Please ensure that your child has a change of clothes for PE, including trainers or a change of footwear.

Homework will be set on a Friday and should be handed in the following Wednesday. Reading with your child every night is encouraged and really helps to build your child's confidence.

Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time so that they don't miss any of their learning.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries about your child learning or well-being.

Zachary said, "We played Tiddlywinks and challenged ourselves to get it in the circle!"

Isabella said, "When we played Tiddlywinks Eloise won because she managed it in one shot!"

Phoebe said, "I loved playing Tiddlywinks because it was so fun, the counters kept moving so fast!"

Wen-Jie said, "We met Doctor Who in assembly! Then all the teachers came out dressed up in clothes from their decade!"

Bella said, "I liked the assembly because Mrs Adams dressed up in really funny clothes!"

Eloise said, "I liked listening to the music by Buddy Holly!"

Role play before writing our own scripts - what a great way to learn about speech punctuation!

We investigated how to make a light bulb work - look at the concentration on those faces!

Badminton - What fun!!

What a great first few weeks!

The children are excited to be in Willow Class and are full of smiles! We have begun looking at the book 'The Scarab's Secret' and have discussed what it might be like to be as small as Kephri, the scarab beetle. In maths we have been looking at place value and discovering some big numbers! We have started swimming and are loving making a splash on a Monday or a Tuesday. We are looking forward to our trip to Bristol Museum on Tuesday 19th September - look out for our pictures!
