Welcome to Willow Class
Class Teacher - Miss Abbie Herrin
Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Mrs Jo Bond
Learning Support Assistant - Ms Chloe Morrissey
We are delighted to be teaching the children of Willow Class.
On this page you can find links to the learning throughout the year including:
We will be updating the page on a regular basis to keep you up to date with the recent learning as you might want to extend their learning at home.
During term 4 we will be studying Chocolate and we invite you to click on the link to the topic web.
We have P.E. on Thursdays, it is important that all children to bring their kit and trainers every week. We suggest that kit is brought in on a Monday and left in school until the Friday. Children with long hair must also have a band with which to tie back their hair.
Spellings are set on Wednesday to be returned by the next Tuesday, when there will be a spelling test.
As we like to use our lovely outdoor spaces for learning and exploring, all children need to keep a pair of wellies in school.
We are always happy to talk to you about any aspect of your child's education and well-being. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any queries.
This week we have been writing instructions on how to catch a dragon and how to make a dragon mask.
We have been focusing on multiplying in maths and using number lines to help us.
We are waiting for 2 of our dragon eggs to hatch - the egg in Maple class is gone and there are now HUGE dragon footprints down the corridor!
Welcome to Term 3!
Our topic this term is Vikings - We're reading the book How to Train your Dragon.
We found dragon eggs in the playground!
During this term we will be making volcanoes! The pictures below show our first session making them. In English we have been looking at a book called 'Escape from Pompeii' which is all about a volcano! In Maths we have started to tackle subtraction and are using number lines to help us!
Welcome to Willow Class! Term 1 Week 1 & 2
In Willow class we have been improving our Mark Making skills with lots of practise - we've created book covers for our English and Maths books, we've created a huge display outside the classroom and we're even learning a poem off by heart!
In Maths we have been looking at place value, securing our knowledge of numbers and the number system. In English we have been writing the Roman myth 'King Midas and the Golden Touch'. We love this myth, all about a greedy king!
Look out for a video of our class poem!
