Supporting Children With Additional Needs

At Roundhill Primary we work hard to make this a nurturing place where children can grow and achieve together.

We believe in seeing the unique strengths and talents each child has alongside identifying at the earliest opportunity anything that might be preventing the child making good progress. We have a ‘can do’ approach to supporting children’s needs and working with Parents/Carers and other professionals to help the child and family.

We fund a range of support for children and their families:

  • Staff trained to support speech and language development and social and emotional development in small groups
  • Dramatherapy, sports mentoring and Place2BE school-based counselling for a small number of children who need higher levels of support

We also work closely with a range of services to increase the support we offer including:

  • Brighter Futures (specialist behaviour support consultants)
  • Educational Psychologists
  • Health Visitors, School Nurse, Occupational Therapists and Paediatricians
  • Supporting transition to more specialist provision if the child’s needs cannot be fully met here

Parts of our school site are fully accessible including Early Years and Key Stage but our Key Stage 2 building has several sets of stairs.
